This is a beautiful small marine coral reef fish known as Blue-streak Cleaner Wrasse. It grows to a length of 10 cm. The dorsal surface of this fish is pale brown, shading to creamy white on the flanks and ventral surface. An increasingly wide black stripe runs from the tip of the snot to the rear of the caudal fin. Pale blue areas highlight the sides of the stripes towards the rear. The main attraction of this specie is its cleaning activity as it picks up parasites from the skin or even from the inside of mouths and gills, of other fishes. Excellent fish for the reef aquarium. Difficult to feed and do require plenty of fish company so they can feed on the parasites and mucus of other fishes. It requires water temperature of 24-27 °C and pH 8.0-.8.3. There is no report of captive breeding of this fish. It is very interesting to watch it in the wild as it swims in the other fish' mouths.
