This is also one of the variant of goldish and is native to Asia, China and Japan. It grows to a length of 15 to 20 cm. This variant of goldfish has two large fluid filled sacs near the eyes that looks like small balloon and hence the name. These fluid filled sacs can easily be punctured by sharp aquarium decorations so care must be given in selecting the correct type of decor for the tank. Bubble eye hatchlings begin their lives with normal looking eyes however at around three months, the eye sacs start to develop. It is a delicate fish and needs to be kept with similar and slow moving fishes with which it can compete for food. The water quality requirements for temperature and pH are 24-26 0C, pH 7.2-8.0 and low hardness. They are omnivorous and hence feed on all type of live feeds and also commercial diets specially prepared for goldfish.
